2019 Upper Deck X-Files: UFOs and Aliens is the biggest set of trading cards the show has ever seen. And there have been a lot of sets since the show debuted in 1993. Offering a massive base set, several inserts and autographs, this set goes beyond the seasonal approaches most other sets of X-Files trading cards have taken.

Most entertainment card sets today have somewhere between 50 and 100 cards. 2019 Upper Deck X-Files: UFOs and Aliens is closer to the size of a sports release with 300 cards. Covering the show’s run, it goes beyond offering episode recaps.


Inserts taken things even deeper, focusing on things like Characters, cases in Unexplained Phenomenon and tough X-Files Redacted Files, which land approximately every third box. There’s also a set of Behind the Scenes inserts that look at production from the other side of the camera.


2019 Upper Deck X-Files: UFOs and Aliens also has a set of Sticker Cards. These alone count for 100 cards.


Autographs come with both one and two signatures from actors, creators and producers. Among them are signed printing plates.


2019 Upper Deck X-Files: UFOs and Aliens is the first set to have widely available sketch cards.


Upper Deck is the fourth North American manufacturer to produce X-Files trading cards. Topps and Inkworks had it at different times during the show’s original run. Rittenhouse has a Season 10 and 11 set based on the revival. One could also look at IDW, a comic manufacturer that released a small number of sketch cards.
