2020 Donruss Optic Football brings back the main Donruss set and gives it a new chromium coat. With that comes lots of color, on-card ink and a large checklist.


Available in several configurations, hobby is where the most premium content is found. Hobby boxes have one autograph, four inserts and ten parallels.


2020 Donruss Optic Football Checklist Overview

The base set is similar in layout and design to 2020 Donruss Football. However, there is a major difference in how the cards are made. With Optic, things shift to opti-chrome, something that more shiny and a little more elevated.

The base set has three sections: veterans, rookies and Rated Rookies. Both rookie-themed subsets combine to land approximately one per hobby pack. To break things down further, the typical hobby box delivers 14 rookies and six Rated Rookies.







Autographs and Inserts

Rated Rookie Autographs return as Optic’s cornerstone signature set. These combine on-card ink, the iconic Rated Rookie label and some of the season’s top rookies including Joe Burrow, Justin Herbert, Tua Tagovailoa and Chase Young. Besides base versions, parallels include Holo (/150), Blue (/99), Red (/50), Purple (/35), Black Pandora (/25), Gold (/10), Green (/5) and Gold Vinyl (1/1).







Collectors can also find Rookie Patch Autographs (/25) and Dynamic Patch Autographs that go beyond NFL freshmen. Both of these have one-of-one Gold Vinyl parallels.








2020 Donruss Optic Football has several other insert sets as well. Some take a chrome approach to existing chase cards while others are exclusive to this set.


The popular Downtown returns in Optic, casting star players and rookies against cartoon cityscapes. However, some go beyond the home team and take a road trip to Super Bowl cities. Downtown is considered to be a case hit, so they have rarity going for them as well.







T-Minus 3…2…1 makes the jump over from basketball. Here, it’s ten top quarterbacks as the focus — not to mention its bold design.








As far as short print inserts go, there’s Mythical, a 20-card set.









Other inserts in 2020 Donruss Optic Football include My House and Retro Series.
